Neuralink, a Brain Computer Interface (BCI) startup owned by billionaire businessman Elon Musk has received approval from the US food and drug administration (FDA) to carry out the first human trial of brain implants on paralysis patients.
Neuralink revealed that the initial goal is to enable people to control computer cursors or keyboard using their thoughts. In this trial, there will be an implantation of a BCI chip around the human brain. The number of participants that will be involved is unknown.
