WhatsApp users are now able to edit sent messages and lock chats.

The end-to-end encryption application WhatsApp has incorporated new features to the multimedia application. The new features will allow users to edit sent messages as well as lock chats.

Sent messages can be edited up to 15 minutes after sending it and it will update for everyone in the chat. Edited messages will have the word “edited” next to the timestamp. You can edit photos, videos and other types of media. To edit message;

·        Long press the message you want to update.

·         Tap edit and edit your message.

·        Tap the checkmark when you’re finished with the update.

Chat lock lets users store most personal conversations in a separate folder. To turn chat lock on;

·        Set up your device authentication, such as your phone passcode, fingerprint, or face ID. If you don’t have it set up, you’ll be prompted to set it up before locking chats.

·        Tap the chat info and tap chat lock.

·        Tap lock chats with face ID, passcode, or fingerprints.

·        Confirm your face ID, passcode, or fingerprint.
