The technology industry has been given a boost as the U.S government launches technology hubs across U.S states for innovation and job creation within the industry. U.S news reports that this announcement is preceded by a process launched by Gina Raimondo’s department (commerce secretary to the White House) in May to distribute a total of $500 million in grants to cities in line with the CHIPS and Science Act. The Act encourages investments in new technologies like Artificial intelligence, Biotechnology and Quantum computing.
The White House in a emailed statement said that “these tech hubs will catalyze investment in technologies critical to economic growth, national security, and job creation, and will help communities across the country become centers of innovation critical to American competitiveness.
The tech hubs are reportedly going to be in the following states: Rhode Island, Oklahoma, montana, Massachusetts, Illinois, Colorado, Indiana, Virginia, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Alabama, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Minnesota, Idaho, Louisiana, Wyoming, Georgia, South Carolina, New York, Florida, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Missouri Vermont, Ohio, Maine and Puerto Rico
